Blogging communities and directories
Over the years, there are several online communities which was setup to connect people to blogs as well as a medium to connect other bloggers with one and another. These blogging communities encompass BlogCatalog and MyBlogLog.
Blogging and advertising
For the past 3 years, blogging and advertising has virtually combined together. It is indeed very common for blogs to bear their own advertisements either to financially benefit the blogger or to help promote the blogger's favorite topics. In fact, the popularity of blogs has also given rise to so-called fake blogs in which a company will engineer a fictional blog as a marketing tool to endorse a product.
